How To: Dress Like Meghan Markle

For a California girl, Meghan seems to have a very clean-cut, understated look, on and off screen. I’m more than confident that Her Royal Highness won’t be spicing up her wardrobe anytime soon besides the occasional evening tiara (hehe) or a garden party hat.

Now that Megs is officially a royal, her style will be more sought after than ever before and I’m here for it. If you’re interested in making over your wardrobe to be more Markle-esk, here are a few things to add to your fashion repetoire.

Messy Buns

Between keeping up appearances and changing the world, Megs has no time for a curling iron. Her messy bun can be spotted at least once a week and was even trending on Twitter. Since then, we have seen a spike in sophisticated low buns that say “busy, but make it fashion.”

Not sure how to achieve the simple yet sophisticated chignon? Watch my video and I’ll show you how.

Peacoat

When Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November 2017, she wore a stunning ivory coat from a Canadian boutique that sold out online that day. Since then, Meghan has become the face of fall/winter outerwear, rocking a peacoat from ever neutral hue possible and even adding a splash of prints every once in awhile.

Meghan’s typical peacoat style is the neutral, opened style but this might not work for everyone. Try on different style like; double or single breasted, military style, wrapped, get crazy!

Black pumps

Mrs. Markle’s wardrobe is pretty balanced from flats to stilettos. But more often than not, she is wearing a classic black pump and you should be too. They’re appropriate for every occasion and they make even my short little legs look VS fashion show ready.

If you do anything, invest in a good pair of heels. Pumps should have longevity because they’re so versatile. If you’re replacing a pair every year, you’re wasting your money so don't be afraid to bend your budget a little for a heel that will last.

Mix it up at the bottom

What I love about Meghan’s style is how consistent, yet versatile it is. She tends to keep things classic and crisp on the top and sass it up at the bottom. Whether it be a leather skirt or sexy pleated pants, she ads a sophisticated edge, without making a scene.

Next time you see something a cute but a little bit out of your comfort zone, try it on. You might surprise yourself with how flattering it is and it may just be your next go-to statement piece.

Unfortunately it's against royal protocall to have an Instagram, so we won't be keeping up with Meghan's looks on a verified account anytime soon. But the good news is we have plenty of style accounts dedicated to Meghan's every move or you can follow her actual stylist, @JessicaMulroney who is the brains behind the whole opporation.
