Make a Statement: Statement pieces that will spice up your everyday!

School can be boring, work can be boring and tbh, going out can be boring. But your outfit should never be boring. I live for a hunny that shows up to a party or even just class with something a little extra. Maybe a bold pair of pants or booties when everyone else is wearing vans… or Vans when everyone else is wearing booties!
Anyway, statement pieces are a lot easier to wear than people perceive and it’s time to spice up your closet with a little something extra. Keep reading for a few of my faves!
Embellishments
Adding a little extraordinary to the ordinary is a solid start to spicing up an outfit. Stars, hearts, eyes, whatever you’re into, go with everything! These star booties are V cute and tbh are just your average bootie with a little somethin’ extra. If you’re a DIY kind of hunny (I’m not), you can give an old pair of booties new life and iron some sparkly stars on! 10 points for creativity!
Statement pants
I live and breathe for a statement pant, if I didn’t you wouldn’t be reading this blog. Stripes, floral prints, wide leg or skinny they are such a cool way to really wow the crowd and 9/10 they’re more comfortable than your normal jeans.

Jackets
I swore I wouldn’t buy one of these damn things because I thought they were just another passing trend we would regret like neon jeggings (cringe). But after much debate and finding the perfect one at Target for $40, I caved.
These textured overcoats will take your outfit from 0 to 100 REAL QUICK, and they aren’t as intimidating as they appear. You can keep it simple with a bodysuit and denim combo or elevate a formal moment even more.
They’re super fun and completely eliminate the question of “what jacket am I going to wear in the bar” because they’re so ridiculous they go with anything.
So the next time you’re out shopping and you see something you think is cool but can’t pull off, remember this; you’re wrong. Buy now and figure it out later (but keep the receipt).
